Briggs 28N707 (Sabre 1542HS lawn tractor)

I'm having a "running" issue with my B&S 15.5hp engine on a Sabre (JD) lawn tractor. Engine starts and runs fine, for about 8 minutes, then quits as if it has run out of fuel. Tank does have adaquate fuel. I have replaced the fuel filter (no difference experienced). I am able to restart, only in start (choke) setting, then dies again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Is the fuel cap venting? Take the cap off and see if it will start.

b&S

fuel filter replaced - possible fuel celonoid or gummed up fuel line....clean or replace air filter...check spark plug and wires...spray choke cleaner in carburator...crank, crank, crank

Success!

Problem appears to have been the fuel cap vent blocked. Tested it by running it until engine began to cut out due to fuel starvation, then loosened the fuel cap and the engine ran normal. I did this 3 times in a row with same result. Time between each "venting" was approximately 5 minutes.

Thanks again for the help!
