Toro Walk Power Mower Drive stuck

My 'Push-down'-drive Toro #20652 is 3 years old and has been great so far. I was using it going slow when there was a click and the mower jumped to max speed and is stuck there. Pushdown cable isn't broke. Mower is in drive even on starting. Any advice on what the problem is and how to solve it without an expensive dealer repair would we great. Thanks.

Check underneath your mower in the transmission area, I have seen small twigs get picked up by the mower and wedged up on the transmission and hold it in gear. Also check the drive belt an make sure it did not slip off of one of the drive pulleys and is riding on the outer edge of the pulley.
