17.5 hp briggs starts easily then dies

I have a 17.5 hp briggs motor that starts easily but only runs for about 20-30 seconds then dies. I've had the carb off and cleaned it and blew air through all the jets. It seems to run out of gas but the solenoid under the bowl is working well and the float is filling the bowl correctly. any ideas?

Will it start right after it dies? The carb may need a bath type cleaning which does a better job than a can of carb and choke cleaner.

Along with answering Msidan's question answer my question...Are you sure it is 20-30 seconds before it dies? This is an odd amount of time and, if so, AND you have a chuck full tank of gas then I'd consider the fuel cap having a plugged vent.
