weedeater featherlite, problem after changing fuel line
Hello
I have a weedeater featherlite, this one has fuel primer bulb, I recently replaced one of the fuel lines, the one going to the primer bulb part of the carb. It was a little larger than the oem fuel line. The weedeater then ran for a while and cut off, it then starting running at about half throttle for about 10-5 seconds and shutting off, although if you left the choke about half it would run, it will now not even start, I also replaced the fuel filter. It has been an excellent little weed eater, could someone help?
thanks
chris

I believe you have a restriction in the carb, or a crack or pinhole in the supply fuel line. The one you replaced would be the return line. I am only wondering how you got it fed into the tank if the diameter of it was larger.

I just got two weedeaters running that I had done everything to (fuel lines, carb kit, filter on fuel line in tank, ect.) They would start and run for only a little while. They alsso needed the choke on somewhat. I finally solved the problem. It was the fuel screen inside the carburetor. It was full of crud and would not let enough fuel to the carb to run. The filter is a small screen under the fuel pump ( the opposite side of the carb from the bulb). Be careful removing the fuel pump. It looks like a gasket and is extremely delicate, especially the flappers. The screen is about the size of a babies small finger tip, not hardly recognzable but under the gunk was a screen. Since I cleaned this screen I now have two working weedeaters, a Sears and a Weedeater Featherlite. Blow out the carb passages after cleaning the screen. Good luck.
