I have a john deere gt225 tractor. I would like to know if there is a in tank fuel filter and how to replace it.

The GT225 does not have an in the tank fuel filter. The fuel filter is in your feel hose to the engine, just inside the engine hood. The John Deere parts site is http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.HomePageServlet_Alt

Then put in your model gt225 and look under the fuel tank. The illustration shows the configuration. I have seen where grass particles have plugged the pickup tube and had to blow back on the hose to clear the tube. If you need to pull the tube you will have to remove the seat and rear fender section, etc. Good luck.
