Honda Lawnmower problem

My Honda lawnmower will start fine, and then cut off within 5-10 seconds. I did notice, however, that if I life the rear wheels, front wheels OR turn the mower on its side, it continues to run. Any ideas?????

My guess is a fuel problem but I imagine folks will want some numbers off your mower and motor. I'm guessing it's time to clean the carburetor.

Riding mower? Walk-behind mower? Chassis ID numbers? Engine ID numbers? Your tipping the mower and having it run well makes no sense but it sure seems that you will have a carburetor issue as Goose indicated. Does the engine have a choke? Or a primer? Can you keep it running using that which yours has?
