Snowblower drive belt kicks off

Hi. Last winter my brother-in-law gave me his parent's snowblower, since they got a new one. It is 20+ years old. They were the original owners. They never had to replace the drive belt, so it is the original. I was using it today, and the idler pulley keeps kicking the drive belt off the idler pulley. I am pretty sure that it is from the belt being stretched. I can't find a part number or belt size anywhere. The snowblower is a:
Homelite Jacobsen 523
UT# 35023 (Unit #)

If anyone has a way to find out the proper belt size, I would GREATLY apperciate it!

Thanks,
Dan

In all honesty, you'll have a hard time finding a part number for that belt on something that old. I have a 25yr old Snow Charger snowblower and I can only find parts for the tecumseh engine. I'd suggest taking the belt off the machine and go to the local hardware store and match it up to one on the shelf. In most cases you can find one thats close (get a new one thats just a teeny bit smaller than the old one).
