looking for parts
This may seem like a search, but do any of you have a reliable site for parts searches for Techumseh & MTD?? I've looked for a parts breakdown for a Tecumseh mod 358sa, spec159630a, dom 06222cd0452 engine, as well as others with no luck. also with M.T.D, if I search 313-663g515 model, 1l072i1-0146 mfg code I have no luck. (as well with others) A gentleman was here a day or 2 ago with an old single stage blower & he claimed he found the parts list on the MTD site, but when I tried it with his info ,no matches found?? Is it just Me, or am I in the wrong place @ the wrong time again Thanks lots Guys, Roger

I'm thinking the problem you're having is with the numbers you are using. The Tec mod num you mention is not a valid Tec model num.
Oftentimes the Sears parts site will show parts for the TEC model.
I've had good luck on the MTD site finding parts lists if I use the correct model and ser no.
The spec num for the engine was not recognized by Landscapepower.com either.
I know this doesn't help much but take a second look at your numbers.
thanks,

Those model numbers get to be hard to read after the engine gets a little dirty. Make sure its clean and re-read the numbers. Sometimes you have to get out a wrench and take the shroud off to read the numbers.

Thanks Guys, You're right, I mesed up the numbers on my post.I have the fan shroud in my hand now & the very clear to read decal is Model LH358SA, Spec 159630, DOM 06222cd0452. I also tried Landscapepower with that number & still nothing. Also lots of trouble with M.T.D. numbers. Thanks for all the help in the past & a Happy & Safe New Year Too Everyone!! Roger

Love a good mystery!...
The LH358SA model number is a TEC model no. conversion from the original HMSK100-110 series.
All the TEC parts databases I know of do not show a spec num beyond 159535. I'm assuming the parts sites can't get TEC parts lists past 159535 for whatever reason, maybe change in TEC policy.
However, spec 159535 shows carb number 640349.
If you're curious about the carb....
Put this in model # box at:
http://www3.sears.com/
and you can see if it's your carb.
Perhaps if you're an authorized TEC dealer you can log in at TEC's site and get the later parts lists.
Maybe Cheese and/or Puey can confirm or refute any of this.
thanks,
