Ariens ST824 Snowblower Headlight Repair

Hi:
I'm having problems repairing the head light on my snowblower. I replaced the bulb but the light still doesn't work. Has anyone had this happen before and if so how do i fix the light. Thanks

Simple easy things first:
1). Check the wires for fraying and/or bare wire shorting out.
2). Check for a good ground.
3).Was the bulb the correct one? If it is a seal beam, they are very different altho they are the same physical size and have the same termenal connections, they are different wattages. Most snowblowers run an 18 watt lighting coil. If you happened to have picked up a 35 watt bulb, it will not work.
After all that has been checked, and still no light, most likely your lighting coil is bad.
