Low Oil Sensor

Honda EG2200Z Generator: Unit has full supply of oil. Oil spurts out of rubber hose connected to low oil sensor, but has air mixed with it. When connected to sensor engine shuts down.
Is there supposed to be a full flow of oil from the engine or is oil air mixture OK? Is low oil sensor defective?
Thank you

I would say that the float inside the oil sensor is stuck and not allowing it to come off ground......so yes,I replace it.
The air is prob. caused by a blown head gasket.
