Gas In The Oil

I have a craftsman 17 hp with a 42" mowingdeck and the engine is a kohler and some how gas got in the oil and started blowing it out the exaust I asume that was because the oil was too thin from the gas in the oil. how could that of happened? I drained the oil and put new in and mowed for about 2 hours and it seems to be ok or is it?

if gas is in the oil it might be caused by the carb needle not seating and overflowing with gas.

Most likely it is because of a carb problem as suggested. Probably the inlet needle leaking, maybe the carb in need of cleaning, and less likely, but could be a leaking diaphragm in the fuel pump if equipped.
