Thumbs down riding lawn mower needs help

hello i used my riding lawnmower this winter and when i was driving it the gear seemed to be slipping it acted like it was in neutral and not drive. i slid it back and forth several times and got it to go. i then got off and dropped off the load of stuff i was hauling then i got back on to move the mower and it now wont start at all........i was thinking it might be the ignition cause it does absolutly nothing at all....are there anyways to trouble shoot this yard machine??? thank you very much

What kind of mower? Is it in neutral and the clutch pedal pressed when you try to start it? Are the blades off? What were you hauling?

Yes we can troubleshoot it, but we need more info.

Is this unit a manual shift or hydrostatic transaxle ?
How old is this unit ?
Post the model and serial number of mower.
