fuel oil mix

I just picked up an old homelite 330 chainsaw that has been repainted,so all of the imformation labels no longer exist. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the fuel/oil mix should be for this particular saw?

thanks for the info j howard, I also have several tools with 2-cycle engines and the product you recamend would work well, but it looks kinda pricey. Is that 55.00 for one 1.8 oz. pouch?!

That ad leaves you guessing. $55.00 + 9.99 shipping. It does say the shipping weight is six pounds so there must be more than one application.

I think most two cycles run between 40:1 and 50:1 on the mix. If you ran between 2.5 and 3 oz of two cycle per gallon of gas, you should be okay. You can buy a lot of two cycle oil and gas stabilizer for $65.00.

You will find this in most hardware stores $1.00 per package
for one gal of gas--you can purchase in larger plastic containers--costs cost quite a bit

These old Homelite's would have called for a 32:1 (4oz/gal) mix. I have two old Homelite's, XL and Super 2, I've used extensively this winter with Poulan synthetic 40:1 (3.2oz/gal) that I bot at Wal-Mart.
