DR Lawn and Leaf Vacuum - Dust
I recently purchased a DR Lawn and Leaf Vacuum - a Premier model. It is a nice unit however is is dusty as all heck. It blows dust out the top where the vent is all over itself and the tractor. It looks like a piece of crap after being used and I realize I am going to have to pressure wash it several times during the season to keep it looking decent. The box is put together properly. Is this normal for these kinds of machines or am I missing something.

I've used 'Billy Goats' and a Craftsman lawn vac/chipper and yes, they're dusty, depending to some extent on the weather/soil conditions.
They only screen out the twigs, leaves and clippings, they don't 'filter', as such. If they did, they'd clog pretty quickly I'd imagine.
Blow it off with your leaf blower or nozzle from a compressor after each use, that should help.
