I have a John Deere L130. I took the air filter off my Kohler CV23S and found a small silver ball bearing inside it. It is about 1/4 inch in diameter. Obviously it came from inside since the cover is sealed. Has anyone got any idea what happened?
Thanks!

This bearing fits into the hole in the spit back cup. You'll see what looks like a spot where a hose would fit in the center on the piece that bolts on right over the throat of the carb. This bearing should be pushed all the way into this tube, blocking it. It's not really necessary and you can remove the bearing and leave it out.

No problem. It's not mentioned in disassembly, or even in a parts diagram because it is supposed to be permanent, and a part of the spitback cup. It's supposed to be stuck in there and never come out, but some do.
