Husqvarna saws leaking chain oil

Howdy all,

I have two husky saws ( 272XP -24" bar, and an older model 50 -18" bar). Both of them leak chain oil when they sit in their cases. I tried replacing the cap on the 272 with no change in the leakage rate. The model 50 leaks way more; I mean the entire tank in a few weeks kind of thing.

Do they siphon themselves through the pump? Is there some way to fix this or is it just a husqvarna thing? Thanks for any ideas.

Guy

Great site BTW!!

It's pretty common for most saws to leak bar oil, especially ones stored in areas where the temperature changes a lot from day to night. There might be a few things you could do to slow it down, but you won't stop it.
