mower power

I own a a murray 3 in 1 mower,20" quantum5.0 model.only a couple years old.

it doesn't have a trottle, but it seems like it always has run slower than any power i have had that i could adjust the engine speed.
Is there anything i can do to speed it up.

Post the engine Model, type and Code numbers usually on the engine shroud just above the spark plug and someone will help you. Have a good one. Geo

Take a look at the throttle linkage going to the throttle shaft on the carb. On this linkage should be a spring hokked into a loop. Follow this spring to it's end, where it will be attatched to a tab of metal with a hole in it. Bend this tab in a manner that puts more tension on the spring to speed up the engine.
