12.5hp Briggs 21a707 still blowing oil

I have a 12.5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine (27a707 0223) that, among other problems, is blowing the breather tube off the carburetor and spewing oil. I have replaced the breather reed but it is still doing it. Any ideas? I am stumped!

Thanks....

Gotta ask, Is it over full of oil ?

Does the oil smell like fuel ?

If no to either of the above It sounds like worn rings causing too much crankcase pressure. A cylinder leak-down test would show the condition of the rings and valves.

I did check the oil level and there isn't any gas in the oil.

I will do a leak-down and see. Thanks...
