Stihl chainsaw dies

I have a stihl 028 chainsaw that starts and idles but when i pull the trigger it dies. Any ideas where to start? I have taken the carb off and cleaned it but continue to have theis problem.

It probably needs a new diaphram kit. It probably has either a Zama or Walbro carb, both sites have very good carb info so after you get to the site select the Service/Aftermarket tab. Have a good one. Geo

check the spark arrestor inside the muffler.

All it is, is a screen that knocks down sparks.

I had the exact same problem with my saw, cleaned the scrren, runs like a champ.

After you removed and cleaned carb did you readust your hi and lo needles. How about before you took the carb apart? If not try seating both needles then back out about one turn. Then work from there especially on hi side. good luck oopsy 59
