Transmission slipping

I have a yard machine model 601 (bought 2005). It has started stalling (coming to a complete stop or close while engine is running) going up hill or when pulling a load. The engine is a Briggs and Strattin 21 HP??? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd start by checking the condition and tension of the transmission belt.
