Valve cover gasket on a 1995 G14A Yamaha
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Golf cart.
I have a small seepage of oil at the top of my side engine valve cover. I know I must remove the gas tank and pull the Clutch to get at the cover. What problems must I be aware of when pulling the clutch? Any suggestions as to how best to do this in a step by step manner would be appreciated. Any suggestions on how best to clean out the old gasket and prepare for the installation of the new gasket would also be appreciated. I can be contacted at deke4@capital.net.
Thank you.

If you mean the crankcase cover, just inboard of the clutch, You have to remove the engine because you can't line up the crank & cam bearings & timing marks etc unless you have the cart on it's side. There is a clutch puller bolt for the clutch. When removing the gaskets, use a scraper with care. DO NOT use a scotchbrite disc or a wire wheel etc on a drill or a die grinder. It's not a big job, it just looks worse than it is.... Good Luck,, Roger
