Murray Lawn tractor deck problems

older murray. got a 14hp briggs and 42'' deck. runs great, but when i turn the blades on, the deck shakes real bad. im trying to sell it and i had someone come and take a look, but he didnt buy it because of that. i checked it out and all the brackets are in place and all the washers and cotter pins in place. could it be a problem with the belt? im not sure what causes this. any help would be appreciated. blades are on correctly, and they are both balanced. i did this myself and does it matter what position the blades are in? the deck doesnt have a brake on it, so i can spin the blades by hand when they arnt turning, so is it possible they are not syncronized or something? let me know

thanks,
Jack

Jack,

Check your belt for any burnt/flat spots on the inside "V" area, Also check all the pulleys (blade and engine) for a stick that could have gotten lodged in the "V" areas and grab each end of the blade and try to rock it up and down. Could have a bad blade spindle bearing.

Good Luck
