I have an MTD yard machine pro series, i am in such a rut, need to find out anything i can for the tractor, i need it running and need to find a PDF manual or parts list for it.
i can include pictures later on but at the moment all i can tell the group is that its got the briggs 18 horse with a 46 inch cut.....has shift on the go, 7 speed and is a manual shift!

anything to help (model #s and where to look for serial #s)
what kind of tractor and what year.
thanks soooooo much

It would help if you would post the model numbers for the engine and the mower. Engine numbers are on the engine shroud usually above the sparkplug. The chassi is under the seat. Have a good one. Geo

I wish it were that simple, the chassis's gone. the best i can get you guys is the engine I.D. it is a V twin Vertical. there is one pic i found online, the tractor is currently apart due to starter issues (sat for years, brushes need cleaned) ill include that with this post

MTD places a label under the seat with the model and serial number. Briggs and Stratton has the model, type and code number on their engines. The first two digits of the code number is the year of manufacture.

Go to the following website and select Model and MTD enter model number 142-849H095. Is this your mower?
