Bolens mower

I have a Bolens push mower. Briggs engine, model #10C902, Type#0217 B1, Code#030090252.It starts up fine but runs at a high speed. Does anyone know how to adjust it down?

Looking at the front of the engine just above the fuel tank and adjacent the carburetor you should see a tab/lever with a governor spring attached. Bending this tab forward increases pressure on the governor spring and INCREASES RPM, bending it to the rear decreases pressure on the governor spring and DECREASES RPM.

RPM of the engine is based on bladed length. Too high of an RPM is dangerous. RPM can be read using a tachometer or Treysit Sirometer aka Vibra-Tach. A Vibra-Tach is relatively inexpensive and very accurate tool.
