EPG Lithium grease ??? Where to get some...

Hi again folks, just about ready to finish rebuilding a Peerless RA-208-P91 Right Angle drive.

According to the original manual for my tractor 1975 MTD I should add 6oz of EPG Lithium grease.

I had a quick look at the local Canadian Tire the other day and didn't see any there, although I didn't ask the clerk if they stocked it.

Because this came out of a 1975 manual I was wondering if maybe it went by some other name now, or some sort of equivalent ?

Should I be checking auto parts store or small engine place ?

Thanks again
Wayne.

I don't know what the EPG means, but I did find reference to EPG2 lithium grease on a UK site that described it to sound like common wheel bearing grease (which often has lithium).

God bless!

Hi Cheese, well putting "where to buy EPG Lithium grease" into google gave some really weird hits !

But I found one site where it would seem that "EPG" is the code for extreme pressure lithium grease !? All the other sites wanted to sell me the stuff by the oil super tanker load !

I guess I'll be callin' me local small engine guy tomm
