mower problem

I have a Troy Bilt riding mower that shuts off after running for a short while. I have changed the oil, ail filter and plug. Any suggestions would be helpful. Its like the engine is getting too hot and it shuts off, or something. You can let it cool down again and it will run fine until it shuts off again.

Check for spark when it dies. If no spark, put a coil on it. If there is spark, reply back and we'll go from there.
