2.5 HP Generator replacement parts

Hello All:

My first mistake was buying a small Chinese- made generator. I went to start it the other day, which is always a chore, and part of the pull-start, the "tooth" that engages and turns the motor snapped in half. I tried super glue but it wont hold.

I called the manufacturer who stated that he would send me a whole new pull starter mechanism for free if I sent him $25.00. (very shady) I only need this small piece of plastic worth about $.20. Anybody know where I can get this part? The generator is a Triron WT 1800 but I have seen the exact same generator with different branding labels.

Thanks for your help.

You're probably at the mercy of the manufacturer. I don't have a source for chinese stuff and generally don't even work on any of it, for that reason and because you can never really fix it. It's hard to fix something that's no good to start with. Know what I mean?...
