Gas leaking through choke

Hi, I just replaced some parts on my Craftsman Edger's carburetor. It's a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 with a diaphragm type carb. I replaced the diaphragm, gasket, needle, spring, and washer. (I have also replaced the spark plug and air filter). The engine started up and ran much better. Now the only problem is gas is coming out of the choke opening. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tim

I guess we're gonna need model #s on this one, because the only briggs 3.5hp engines with choke openings are ones that gas cannot leak out the choke opening because the choke opening is the highest point in the fuel system. I don't think you have a briggs.
