2 Stroke Lawn Boy Govenor Spring

Greetings to all,, I have a 2 stroke Lawnboy with a broken govenor spring. the model is 22261 & serial is 220000448.. My question is, how do I remove the air vane/throttle shaft to replace the spring. The throttle plate looks as if it snaps into the throttle shaft, but may cause some damage if I pull it out of the throttle shaft... Any hints or tips are greatly welcome,,,, Thanks lots, Roger

With throttle plates that just snap in, I just grab them with a pair of pliers and pul them out. You might have to use a thin flat blade screwdriver to help open the slot in the shaft, but generally the plate will just pull out with gentle persuasion.

Thanks lots, Cheese.. Sometimes I'm just too gentle with stuff..LOL. I did get it pulled out, & a little penetraiting oil seemed to help as well!! Thanks again... Roger
