Older Huskee riding mower will only turn right

Older Huskee riding mower will only turn right

It turn's to the right fine but to the left the tires dont go past being straight. The steering wheel and the gears move but the tires do not

I don't know what mower you have other than older huskee, so I will guess what might fix it.

At the end of the steering column is a gear held on with a bolt. Take the bolt out, the gear will slide off. Pull the steering wheel up so the shaft comes out of the hole and replace the bushing in that hole and the gear on the end of the shaft.

It's a Huskee easy cut 14.5 hp 38" cut not sure what year. Thanks for the help and I got it from a friend, not sure when it started.

That still doesn't help. A model number would help (look at the sticker under the seat). Did you check what I mentioned?

The model number is 13am660f131 sorry about that. I was going to start on it today I found the parts you mentioned there's a Philips screw at the bottom of the steering shaft

Okay then, that's the type I was referring to. Take the phillips head bolt out and you will access the parts I mentioned. It can be pretty tight, I've had to use vise grips to grip and loosen it.

I got the phillips bolt out the other day and found the parts i need to order online but if I have to replace the gear at the end of the steering rod I have to buy a whole new steering rod? Just wanted to double check with you before I spent the 34$ thanks again for the help

On that model, the gear is made to the shaft, so if the gear is messed up, you'll need the whole shaft. Most times a new bushing fixes this type, but sometimes the shaft needs replacement.

Alright, so this is where im at now ive replaced the bushing and washers and today I got the steering shaft and replaced it. It does turn more to the left then it did but it still doesnt turn all the way to the left. When I have the front end up on a board an turn the wheel it does go all the way left but when its on the ground it doesnt turn the whole way. Thanks again for all the help sorry to keep bothering you

The sector gear and the bushing it mounts on may be worn as well. usually they aren't so bad, but every once in a while...
