Sachs-Dolmar recoil rope replacement

I have a Sachs Dolmar BC-330 weed whaker. the reoil and fan/fly wheel is on the back of the unit. Do I have to take the fly wheel/fan combinatioon off to get to the recoil pulley to replace the rope? ?

I don't believe you will have to remove all that. I'm not familiar with that model, but generally you just remove the recoil assembly from the back of the engine and that's it.

Sorry, but as stated, I'm not familiar with that model. So the pull rope assembly is not at the very back end of the engine? If not, then it would seem that you would have to remove the flywheel to access it, from your description. I don't think I've ever seen any trimmer engine made that way unless it's all at the front of the engine.
