Poulan HD145H42J-Drive Belt

Got drive belt 140294 but it is too tight. Can't put it on. Old one has #141416. Any tips.

Yes, here is a tip. The belt you are trying to install is the wrong one for your rider. It's too short, and if you somehow get it on, it will not disengage when the clutch / brake is depressed.

140294 shows to be a 1/2" width belt by 81 - 1/16" long.

141416 which is a good part number and the one that shows to be the correct one for your rider is a 1/2" width belt by 83 - 3/4" long.

Thanks but 140294 is the part # given for drive belt in the manual and also on the back of the seat. That is how I bought the wrong belt.

Well that is unusual. I looked up the IPL for the model number you posted, and the part number off your old belt is what shows to be the correct one, and since it is a couple of inches longer, should be the one you need.
