Thumbs up B&S Carburator Repair

I have a riding mower w/18 hp B&S engine. The throttle assembly came apart inside the carb. As a result some of the parts where eaten by the engine. Which seems to have survived. There is a part(#690572 spring-detent) shown on the diagram for this carb. Where does it go and what is it's purpose?

List the model, type and code number from the engine. This hopefully help pin point the model number of your mower.

If you will look closely, where the choke shaft goes in on top of the carburetor you will see a small hole (not deep) next to the choke shaft plate. This is where the detent spring is installed, tight fit. The purpose is to provide friction to maintain choke position.
