B&S Mower

My Craftsmen LT1000 stopped on me. The mower will turn over, but it won't start. What could it be?

As with most gas engine starting problems, most likely fuel problem or ignition problem. First step - pull the spark plug, reconnect plug wire and lay it where it will make contact with ground (metal). Try cranking it and odserve to see if you are getting spark.

Measure it with a micrometer; cut it with an ax.

I just had similar issue with my LT1000; but sometimes mine would start, but not run well. I did get it going well, did a buch of minor things, but think my main issue was the choke being stuck. Not sure how its choke works, but mine was stuck mostly closed (and it was hot outside) and when it did start the exhaust was very black (rich). The usual suspects first to check are spark plug, air filter, and that fuel filter is not clogged.
