Installing new piston ring set question

I am rebuilding an old Lawn Boy F-100 engine and I am supposed to get all my bearings, gaskets rings etc tomorrow. I don't have a ring press. Will a hose clamp work to clamp the rings enough to push into the cylinder? Any other assembly tricks I need to know? When I pulled the con rod off the crankshaft all the bearings in the liner assembly fell out. Fortunately I ordered a new liner assembly. Will the bearings be loose? I guess I need to pack it with grease to hold the bearings for assy. I would appreciate any tips here! Thanks

You don't need a ring compressor to reinstall the piston in the cylinder. The inside of the piston jug has a taper, just a gentle rocking motion is all you will need to get the piston back in with the new rings. Just be sure that if the piston has alignment pins that the ring end gaps are lined up with the pins. I am not sure, but I don't think the "F" series engines had alignment pins.
