Craftsman mower won't start

I have a Craftsman riding mover that won't start. I replaced the solenoid and the battery is charged. The mower will turn over and start however if I place a metal wrench connect the two posts on the solenoid (Bypassing the solenoid). Does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance

Could be a number of different things. A model number off of your unit could help to narrow it down.

I would check for a bad fuse. The problem could lie in the key switch, one of the safety interlock switches, or in the solenoid itself.

I, agree check the safety switches. You didn't say what model it is. If the deck engages with a lever, wiggle it with the key it the start position. This is the switch that goes bad or out of adjustment first.
