I have a 6500 it was running good. I shut if off to air up a tire. When I tried to start it again it would not start. It acts like it wants to start. There is a lot of gas coming out from the exhust under the front part of the eng. There is also a little gas coming up where the air filter is on top of the eng.

The tank is higher then the carb and is gravity feed. Try tapping on the float bowl with the back of a screw driver sounds like your float is stuck and holding the needle vale open try that it may solve your trouble.

Tapping it might stop the fuel leak that is causing it not to start, but you should remove the bowl and have a look inside. Usually a leaking needle goes along with trash in the bowl and possibly water/rust.
