Honda Hr214SX problem - Help appreciated
Have a Honda HR214 self-propelled mower that doesn't want to move. When I depress the drive lever, only the left rear wheel rotates. It worked fine for most of the season. However, I had to replace the right rear wheel and a local mechanic had to use an impact wrench to remove the bolt. Shortly thereafter (one or two uses), the wheel stopped revolving, the left one rotates fine. I don't know if it had anything to do with replacing the wheel or not. I have noticed that the axle on both sides of the mower has about 1/2 inch that appears shiney, as if they have backed out of something. I have tried adjusting the cable, but no improvment. If I turn the mower over I noticed what appears to be a covered plate over th axle. Is there something I can look into or is this beyond a weekend mechanic (sometimes). Thanks in advance - Mark

There is a small ratchet assembly behind each drive wheel that is locked to the axle by a pin. The ratchet dogs may be stuck down and not engaging the assembly or the pin that locks the assembly to the axle may have come out or broken. Remove the wheel and inspect these referenced parts.
