Yamaha voltage regulators

I have a Yamaha golf cart G9-A S/N- JG5-301703 and am about to replace the starter/generator (Hitachi-GSB107-06B) and felt like I should replace the voltage regulator also. I've found several, one on e-bay. They "look" exactly the same, however, the connectors are blue and the one I've got has a red connector on it. My question is, are they the same regulators? Dose anyone know where I might find some detailed information on the starter/generator or the voltage regulator? I have a service manual on the Yamaha G9-A and it goes into detail on the cart and the engine but just mentions the charging system.

Here is a great site for golf carts. All kinds of golf carts. You will see a forum for Yamaha's there which if you ask them this question I'm sure you'll get the help you need. That is of course if noone here can provide an answer for you.
