True Value Snow Chief Snow blower
Need to find out how to get parts for the Snow Chief Snow Blower. True Value doesnt offer parts and i was told to look at MTD but running into a wall there ....any help would be appreciated..jim

here are the model numbers on my snow chief
I alas am also looking for parts, the brass gear in the auger transmission 
I will not make this mistake a second time.
I found this machine with a free sign on it and it worked for two storms, then time caught up, I guess. Maybe if I had done a full tear down and rebuild before use it might have endured without this post?

wrong gear for the snow chief auger tranny
Too bad the gear looked just right in the picture, but that
worm gear fits a 1.5" shaft. This website has the specs of the wrong part I now have in hand:
Worm Gear Lh Mtd 717-1425 - 73-034 by: Oregon - Lawn Mower Parts: Mowpart.com
the snowblower I own has a 3/4" auger shaft.
Back on the hunt for this part
anyone have a suggestion of where to find the correct worm gear?

Snow Chief was made by NOMA. I had 1 in the shop last month and the customer had the owners manual. It had the same address you listed in Harvard, Il.
Trying to get parts, other than engine parts, for these has become almost impossible. It took me 2 weeks and 4 orders of different parts to find axle bearing that I could make work.

found something that looks lots like it
51405MA murray briggs & stratton part number, seems to be tons of places to get this gear, if correct, also I now have the pdf of the gear box and the case this gear goes into looks the same as mine.

NOMA Snow Chief Snow Thrower Manual
Hi - I am wondering if anyone can help me find locating a copy of the owners manual for my snow thrower. It was purchased in 1999 from Home Depot: NOMA Snow King Free Flow – Model #62794010; 6HP Tecumseh Motor – 6 speed.

I may be wrong but I think the Model # should read Model # G2794010. If your 6 could be a G and is a 7hp or 9hp machine then you can find the manual at this link Murray st Parts Diagram Index for G2794-010 Hope it works.
