john deere trs 22 snow thrower key switch

i have a JD trs 22 snow thrower
the key switch was disconnected due to a lost key
by previous owner
i have a key from my old toro that fits the switch but found out there's no
wire connected to the back of the switch
and no wire hanging from the engine
my question is where does the switch connects to?
just when i want to shut down the engine(close choke and lower speed)
sometimes it takes awhile for the engine to cut off

If it's just an on/off key switch, there should be a wire or a terminal on the engine that you can hook a wire from the switch to. Do you know what brand of engine is on your snow blower??

I would look for a wire coming out from under the engine shroud, possibly attached somewhere near the engines throttle control plate. It may have been removed completely and if so you will need to remove the engine shroud to gain access to the ignition module, it will have a spade terminial on it that's where you will hook a kill switch too.
