Question Kohler Cv23s Smoking

I have a 4 year old John Deere L130 tractor with a kohler cv23s engine, 125 hours on it. My lawn is level for mowing.
It began billowing white smoke heavily from the exaust. Mostly at startup, and at times heavy to light during mowing. It also used about a qt. of oil for 1 hour mowing. Was serviced and tuned up by qualified dealer in spring. Oil mist is coming from right side valve cover hole (looking from seat) breather seperator removed. Compression R. SIDE 150 lb, L. SIDE 160 lb.
after squirting oil in on piston, R. SIDE 180 lb. L. SIDE 180 lb.
Cleaned plugs then mowed grass 1/2 hr. used small amount of oil. R. SIDE plug black and sooty & some oil film.
L. SIDE plug still clean, slightly norrnal gray color. Runs and sounds good. Oil went from very clean to stained when starting to smoke and using oil. Was not over filled & checked before each use.

thanks Bill St

I've seen some of these engines burning oil due to head gasket problems. You might pull the heads and check them out.
