Toro Self-Propelled Lawnmower -- Cables too loose
I have a Toro 22" Recycler 6.5HP Self-Propelled Lawnmower Model # 20016 serial #240084831. Both cables are too loose to function. The casing of both cables ends at the side handle cable support brackets, and the the portion that extends upward is entirely exposed. Is there any way to tighten these cables, or do they have to be replaced? If replacement is necessary, would greatly appreciate it if you could please give me some instructions and an idea of the cost of the cables?
Thanks very much.

The self propel cable is adjustable, just loosen the cable clamp at the top of the handle with a 7/16" wrench. Slide the conduit down to take the slack out of the cable. As far as I know the engine brake cable is not adjustable, but as long as it's still working I would not worry about it. If it's giving you trouble, then it would need to be replaced.
