I can find an HDC - 74 but no HDCL carburetors.

Take a look at the Walbro site and see if the HDC carburetor looks anything like yours.

why can't walbro put the model number or part number of the carb on it instead of a bunch of random numbers that don't do nothing. i didn't think of this but i could have gotton the engine model off the blower housing correct and looked up the carb that way right or no. the only carb that appers to be correct is the HDA series. the carb goes HDC then has the L under neath along with the 74 near it ?

I don't know why they can make it a little simpler to figure out carburetor models. Yes you may be able to locate the correct carburetor with the engine numbers as well.
