MTD 12hp mower trouble

i have a 12hp mtd mower that has some electrical problems.
i replaced the ignition switch, solenoid, and battery, plug.
when i turn the key nothing happens.
there is power going into one side of the solenoid but not the other.
nothing eilse seems to get power beyond the solenoid.
starter is good
but no spark?
man, i need some serious help!!!

Hello ryanstrong and welcome to diy. I move your post to keep any confusion as to your specific topic from the older thread.

If you could post the model and serial number from your mower it could be a great help, it should be located on a decal underneath the seat.

To get started with your problem(s) you need to check for any fuses or circuit breakers and make sure there is power going in and coming out. Then check to make sure there is power going to the "B" terminal on the key switch, and there is power coming from the "S" terminal on the switch when the key is in the start position. From here you will follow the power coming from the "S" terminal through the blade interlock and drive clutch interlock switches, finally arriving at the terminal on the side of the starter solenoid.

This is just general as without the model and serial number I am not sure what type of interlock system you might have on your mower.

Check this out and let us know what you find.
