Ariens 36inch snowblower

I'm restoring a ariens 36 inch snowblower model st-116 for a client. in the parts list for the engine it shows a fuel pump which is $90 but i don't see a pump on here. all i see is the carb and the intake pipe going upwards to the engine. so I'm assuming some engines have it some don't. engine is a Briggs 11HP model 252416 type 0739-01 code 40211 (there might a 1 before the 4 not sure).also can someone provide me with a substitute part to replace BRP-280727 sense its no longer available.

also i can't get the transmission to shift. its stuck. i sprayed the heck out of it with wd-40 hammered it it will not move. it just moves like a little bit like a hair of movement. somethings blocking it. does it shift on the shaft. do i need to replace it. how hard would that be.

Do the wheels & rubber disc turn? If not, then the disc is hitting the drive plate. Check your PM.

That disc assembly should slide on that hex shaft. Looks like it is rusted pretty bad. I would remove that whole hex shaft as an assembly and free it up on the bench.
To download parts breakdown and service manual, go to
Ariens - Lawn & Snow Products , click on "customer service", then "owners manuals downloads". Next screen you type in model number, serial number, check the box for the manual you want (parts, owners, service) and language, then click "manual search".
Next screen, click on "view manual". And now you have accsess to that manual.
I hope this helps.

From my angle it looks like the drive wheel is extremely worn. Replace the drive wheel and clean all the grease from the drive disk with brake parts cleaner and you might have it fixed, however I know nothing about snowblowers. Have a good one. Geo

i can't view the manual says a error has occurred while trying to read this document. can anyone get it too work or post a step by step to remove the whole trans sense the disk does not slide the whol thing will need to come out in order to replace. also the part numbers arien gives me do not work. the friction wheel is part number 00300300 and the hex shaft im guessing is part number 52404600 or 02408100 but when i look it up at part sites it says number not found

ok the transmission parts i need are the friction wheel 00300300
the shaft 02404500 or 02433800 which one is it the gear 01027600 and the carrier which is what moves the wheel 02408100. now i also need a snowhog tire 16x6.50x8 part number 07121600. can someone find these and give me a price. those are ariens part numbers and they don't work. also the service manual download does not work so i need step by step instructions to remove and replace the trans parts.

so heres what i need

the hex shaft 02404500 or 02433800
the friction wheel 00300300
the 9 tooth cog 01027600
the carrier 02408100
the tire 07121600

ok sorry to keep bugging you guys. on the cog thats on the hex shaft does it have a Allin wrench type screw to hold it to the shaft or is it welded. if it has the Allin wrench screw i can remove the screw and the bolt and slide the shaft out and slide the new one in keeping things simple. would this work.

Is the old carb seriously broke? Usually they can be brought back to life with some careful cleaning unless the float is bad, and even then there might be a rebuild kit available for a lot less than a new carb.

well this thread is done. repair shop called the old carb could not be rebuilt. too much crud and corrosion. so only option besides junking it is to put a new engine on it.

well an update. it has not been picked up yet and its been over 14 days. I called and he does not want to pay $50 like we agreed sense the parts cost $124 before i found out the card is discontinued. so it sounded like he would give me $20 and he would pick it up but he didn't show today. so if he doesn't show within the next week or so I'm selling the unit to try and recuperate some of my loss's on this machine. it just needs a new engine.
