how do you to set the coil gap with an internal coil?

How do you set the coil gap on a Tecumseh HM100 engine that has the coil mounted UNDER the fly wheel? Yep, this is a 1980 with points.

Tec Timing

You don't the gap is built in and can't be changed. You must time the ignition though look here:

Old Tecumseh Point timing
