Angry Craftsman 9.0 hp snow blower

I have a craftsman 9.0 hp snow blower with a Tecumseh snow king engine, model number LH318SA that will only start with the electric starter. You can pull it all day and it will not start, hot or cold, but plug it in and the starter will crank it started no problem. It has fresh gas, and a new spark plug (gaped correctly). Heavy snow is on the way, please help!!!

when you use the manual recoil starter, does it have resistance, meaning is it actually engaginging & turning the engine over? If it is not spinning the engine, you have a problem with the recoil starter. Take off the belt cover and watch the pullies as you pull the rope. If the pullies do not turn, you need to repair the recoil starter.

Yes, the recoil rope is turning over the engine, it just wont start it.
