Electric starter on snowblower OEM-390-987

Electric starter on snowblower OEM-390-987

Here is a pic of the starter:



If I manually rotate the shaft, it will work 1 time when I press the start button. Next time, nothing until I rotate it by hand again.

Is there a means of lubricating it?

What type of lubricant?

Research has this part at ~$180 for a $650 snowblower.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your starter is a Tecumseh PN 37000 it is replaced by PN 33329E. Do a Google search and I think you will find one for about $100.00.
