Leaky bowl

I have an 8 HP 2 stage Craftsman snowblower. I have pulled the carb and cleaned it and reinstalled it. However gas pours out of the bowl. Is it the float valve or the seal for the bowl that is causing this?

Could be bowl gasket, most likely pin hole in the float. remove float, shake and if you hear gas inside replace.

Thanks. On other thing, if the needle valve is improperly installed ( I think I may have done this according to the manual) would this allow gas to pour into the float bowl unimpeded and cause overflowing?

It could but I suspect a leak in the float.

While holding float in your hand with tang on bottom and facing you hang the clip with the open end to your left

It could also be a pin hole in the bowl itself, I have 2 bowls in my garage with pin holes.

Thanks for your help. It turns out that I had installed both the needle valve and bowl incorrectly. Once I corrected this and changed the oil as it was contaminated with gas it fired right up and is running beautifully.
